Prince Edward Island (PEI) Provincial Nominee Program
Skilled workers with arranged employment in Prince Edward Island (PEI)
can apply for PEI PNP as long as the employment is in their field of study
or experience. The employer must demonstrate that they are unable to fill
the position after recruiting/advertising both provincially and nationally.
Skilled workers need to have moderate language proficiency in English
or French with a bachelor's degree or equivalent education of at least
14 years. They also need to score at least 50 points on the federal/PEI
self-assessment. Immigrant Entrepreneurs with at least $400,000(CAD) including minimum liquid assets (cash, deposits, stocks, and bonds) of $350,000 can apply for PEI PNP. Immigrant Entrepreneurs need to make a minimum business investment of $200,000(CAD) to establish a business in PEI. They need to submit a business plan and $100,000(CAD) deposit (refundable once the business is established). In addition, they need to pay $25,000(CAD) deposit (refundable once an entrepreneur resides in PEI for one year). Immigrant Entrepreneurs cannot establish businesses such as investment holding companies, real estate rental operations, loan/investment companies, and other non-active investment businesses. Immigrant Entrepreneurs are required to make an exploratory visit to PEI for at least three business days once they are invited after pre-assessment. Immigrant Partners are executives who take an active role in the company. Applicants with at least $400,000(CAD) including minimum liquid assets (cash, deposits, stocks, and bonds) of $350,000 can apply for PEI PNP. Applicants need to make a minimum business investment of $200,000(CAD) by way of preferred shares in an eligible PEI company. They need to pay $25,000(CAD) deposit (refundable once an entrepreneur resides in PEI for one year). Immigrant Partners need to engage in businesses such as aerospace, bio-resources, information and communication technologies, film/television/media, manufacturing & processing, tourism (excluding cottage or recreational property development), exportable technology (including proprietary products, processes, or other intellectual property), and retail companies. They cannot engage in businesses such as agriculture/fisheries/forestry, wholesale, financial services, business & personal services, most professional practices, and real estate & construction. Immigrant Partners are required to make an exploratory visit to PEI for at least three business days once they are invited after pre-assessment.
